LABIA REDUCTION
Enlarged, hypertrophic or asymmetrical labia minora can lead to discomfort with wearing certain clothing, performing certain exercises, or during sex. The enlarged labia can have a protuberant and abnormal appearance to some which can lead to self-consciousness.
The labiaplasty procedure is carried out under a General or Local Anaesthetic as a day patient. The surgery is a fairly simple procedure, taking around 30 minutes to perform. The surgeon can trim the inner folds of the labia so that they no longer protrude - either by reducing the edges of the labia or snipping out a 'V' shape wedge and sewing the remaining edges back together. The stitches are dissolvable.
It is important that you do no sports activities or have sexual intercourse for a month after treatment and keep the area as clean as possible.
