The operation involves removing the foreskin of your penis, usually under local anaesthetic. Because of its simplicity, an overnight hospital stay is not required and you will be able to return home on the same day as your treatment. Your surgeon will recommend other ways to speed up your recovery, including the amount of time to take off work.
Complications of Circumcision
The immediate complications are bleeding, infection and damage to the glans. Death can result from the first two, or directly from anesthesia. The remote complications are those which result from the removal of the nature-given protective action of the prepuce, namely, meatal ulcer and stenosis.
